And now I’m feeling really good so far this month! I’m pacing myself on Dungeon Crawler Carl, reading at least one “novel” novel on the side (first Station Eleven, now The Hades Calculus), keeping a soft nonfiction novel on tap for late reading, and I’m hoping to start on Kurt Vonnegut soon as well.

And now I’m feeling really good so far this month! I’m pacing myself on Dungeon Crawler Carl, reading at least one “novel” novel on the side (first Station Eleven, now The Hades Calculus), keeping a soft nonfiction novel on tap for late reading, and I’m hoping to start on Kurt Vonnegut soon as well.
But I finally found my footing again at summer’s end. The pulp-lite allure of litRPG pulled me back in and I was so so so happy to read again. Aside from some minor Mariners-related gaps.

And you can pinpoint the moment I died. I was reading Intermezzo, a rather tough book that I should’ve paired with easier reading on the side, and then the Pacers final run hit its peak. I couldn’t focus on anything else. And when the Pacers lost Game 7, I lost the motivation.

May became tough quickly, as I burnt on Murderbot a little bit too much and suddenly started revolving my entire life around the Pacers playoff push, which started in late April but didn’t get truly interesting imho until the Cleveland series started May 4th.

this year of getting into reading has been really weird.
April was when I started, which was excellent because April became an extremely horrifyingly terrible month and reading helped a ton in getting me through it; Project Hail Mary especially, as it quickly became a daily coping ritual.
