Anya's whole story is forged through really really tough odds (outright trauma actually), and she trains hardcore. Very hardcore. She is fascinated by the mentality of having to die a couple more times to get to where you want.

Hot take actually I feel this is the kind of fandom won’t tolerate my criticisms about characters like Lucanis (Yeah I have gripes about that man actually, LOTS of it, and I seriously think he is overliked because attractiveness works in his favor) but wouldn’t give the same energy for all else
