This is the same problem I have with most soulslikes too. Everyone wants to be like From Software but only From Software can *really* be From Software. The ones that work are ones like Nine Sols or Hollow Knight which kinda aren't even really Soulslikes because they use it as just part of their DNA

The idea that the world is flat and the arctic/antarctic are actually a giant ice wall and there's a whole other world beyond it is almost literally a major plot point in Hunter X Hunter
