The shiny bodysuit/armor works by slapping on a black/white gradient texture and applying it based off of mesh normal reflection from the camera. You can change its scale and values from a remap node to fine-tune the effects intensity.

Shoutout to @benjigamedev.bsky.social for helping me find this!

So, we hope you understand that progress will be slow – but we’re excited to share anything interesting during the process! We’ve come a long way since we started in July. Check out the timeline! (3/3)

We’re a team of friends working on this as a hobby project together! So between work and college, and with no financial incentive, we’re only able to work on this as time allows. Games take a lot of time to make, especially with other responsibilities. (2/3)

Gliding sections could be awesome, tho for most of the gameplay we’re going for a more grounded parkour vibe. I’m curious what elements you noticed need work? (I noticed a couple animation bugs already…)

Thanks! I’ve seen all those resources before :] I’ll point ya towards this reply. I’ll definitely keep experimenting with that stuff and see how it goes!! 💛

Ye, it’s definitely been higher poly so far. We’ve been trying to find a good balance between “looks like a classic game” and “still looks impressive by modern standards.” We’ve been inspired a lot by Kaze’s Mario 64 romhacks for example, which are really pushing the boundaries of what the 64 can do
