i'm on chapter 7 of book 4... so i actually didn't realise how bad this was i'm a quarter of the way through which at this pace means it'll take me another 15 years.......!!!?!?

every time he shows up i grit my teeth and tell myself it doesn't sound like this in russian it doesn't sound like this in russian. so that's a relief to hear 😭

LOL i think it's a combination of started reading it in the pandemic so it has all those feelings and emotions attached to it, it being really long (daunting), and also i actually think i have ended up with a really terrible translation (slog to read)

LOVE rhubarb (grew up in the rhubarb triangle). I recommend peeling the tough skin, cutting into sticks, roasting it with sugar/honey/whatever - dehydrates it without turning to mush - and then adding a crumble topping. yum !!!!!!

well I think my options are to hope that I can either land a gig in the booming post-catastrophe project management space, or that as a passable musician a world without spotify I’m able to latch onto one of the local warlords who’s missing his tunes. not great either way 😖
