Just updated to iOS 26. It’s really weird now how there are two variants of every UI

You get beautiful Liquid Glass in native apps

Then you open an app like Bluesky, and it still looks like iOS18: buttons, keyboards, modals

The fact that there are two system keyboard designs really messes with me

Recommender algos don’t have a concept of “quality”:

If it uses popularity as a proxy for quality, then it’s at best uncorrelated, and at worse inversely correlated

Whoever chose music for GTA radio stations should finetune the Spotify algo. Since it’s their only good algorithmic playlist!

Undecided between the M4 Mac mini and the M4 MacBook Pro

The mini looks *really* tempting – especially since all my work is currently deskbound at home

Plus it still comes in at $200 cheaper with a monitor and trackpad thrown in

That nano-texture and ProMotion screen on the MacBook Pro, though!

A middleground UI might be one where the flexible continuous input is reduced to a set of knobs (like how you collapse things into a rack in Ableton), but you can always “expand” it to inspect or edit what the knobs do.
