More steadfast ships have flounder’ed before
That fateful Call, were swallowed in the swell.
Demise the fare, but fair, who wants for more-
To see the sights, the stories Death could tell?
         Such is the worth of mem’ries they’ll recall,
         In triumph, would they make it back at all.

Through seething seas the vessels rocked and reeled;
New perils quickened burning hearts to race;
With passions fledgling hearts grew cracked and peeled,
The point to prove their mettle; find a place.

With canvas stowed, stark masts, those ships at rest
Did wait and long for sails to be unfurled,
In haste gave chase, yet young, to face the West
Horizon’s Call, o’er gale-tossed oceans whirled.
