I wish I could take the credit! The boxed set was put together by Cook & Becker - and they did a *fantastic* job!

Crossing my fingers for you there!

It worked surprisingly well! It thickened the glue up into a sorta-putty, filled in the gaps on the terrain, and added in a bit of sandy texture.

It also smelled *really* good.

No one at the table noticed except our dog, who I had to actively work to keep from eating the portal to the abyss.

When I was building some terrain a while back and short on cash, I made a sorta similar pivot.

The model I was working with had some large gaps that needed filled - it had been peeling up, just a mess of print failure.

So I mixed some hot chocolate mix into my Elmer’s glue to make a thick paste.

It’s real, guys.

I think I’ve got to hold off on actually cracking the plasticwrap until tomorrow, so I can do so with my girlfriend.

But man, this is just the coolest.

All right… just getting off work. Going to snag a pizza on the way back to my place, and it’s time to DRAW STEEL!

(And the humor is not lost on me that I unintentionally stumbled into using these niche mechanics to give flavorful abilities to one of my personal go-to fantasy ancestries).
December 6, 2025 at 1:59 AM
I figure there will be campaigns ran that never touch these mechanics.

I’ve genuinely considered cutting this content because of how narrow its scope is, and how little it interacts with the rest of the game, but I can’t bring myself to.

…it doesn’t prove too much of a barrier of entry for the system as a whole (since it’s pretty niche, even in the campaigns I’ve run that I invented it for).

In my drafting and mechanics-work today, I found myself working on a super-cool bit of lore, and… it meshed perfectly with my past design!

I’d be cracking the box open right now if I didn’t have to be at work for the rest of the night.

Didn’t even realize when it came, because I was so deep in the weeds writing and editing my own Steel-forged TTRPG lol.

Ummm… according to FedEx Tracking, this was in *Belgium* yesterday…

@hellomcdm.bsky.social did y’all invent teleportation magics as a part of this project too, or are the hawklords so badass that they’re helping with fulfillment?
December 5, 2025 at 10:12 PM
...because *of course* it couldn't be contained in only one post lol

So, apparently I messed up the formatting for the link there, and am working to get it sorted. Nevertheless, here is the recipe, attached in image-form (and alt text).

Set the controls for the heart of the sun!

I understand that feeling, and wish you the best during the holiday season and into the new year.
December 1, 2025 at 5:42 PM
I’m crossing my fingers for you there!

I’m basically holding an unofficial race between whether my Relict Box or my Draw Steel box show up first lol.
December 1, 2025 at 5:29 PM
Thanks for the quick reply! You’re all good, I’m just excited for the game to arrive, and wanted to make sure I don’t/didn’t miss any critical information.

Hope the move went smoothly and you had a happy Thanksgiving!
