If we’re going to move past this chapter, we need to wise up and adapt to our modern media consumption, much the way people had to with radio and cinema during the first half of the 20th century.

In the 20th century, an enabler of fascism was that leaders took advantage of people’s naïveté toward new forms of media. Propaganda films and radio addresses entranced people to authoritarian influences.

The same has now happened with social media and podcasts.

That said, there is plenty blame on both sides.

Progressives should be stepping up to own their mistakes. It will give them the voice of reason and authority. But it can’t be said enough how the RW media sphere has brain rotted so much of the population.

Most regular people signed up for social media for funny cat videos, not political brainwashing. This needs to be treated as a public health crisis.

Future progressives should consider rallying around an offline lifestyle.

Point out how the RW media machine has zombified millions of Americans and poured gasoline on every topic, but frame it with judgement-free language toward the audience.
