Does it make sense to anyone that Athens-Clarke County would have their 4th of July celebration on June 28th?

True love is not just helping your partner extract a splinter from their foot. It's also resisting the urge to yell, "Oh my god, it's moving!" after it comes out.

My old band, Liberator, recorded a third album about 8 years ago that was never released - until now! It's kind of all over the place with an underlying prog-punk vibe. Loads of guitar action. On Bandcamp today, everywhere else tomorrow.

Watching the news lately is like a cat chasing a laser pointer. It's never rewarding, it causes frustration, and makes me want to climb the wall, but day after day I keep going back for more.

Happy ambiguous time signature day! I always feel compelled to either listen to marches on March "forth" or waltzes, it being 3/4 in the U.S. and whatnot.

Random fact: 950,000 square miles of modern USA was once part of Mexico, whereas only 750,000 square miles were once the Confederacy. My conclusion is that those who claim "heritage" as their reason for waving a rebel flag should have no issue with Mexican Americans doing the same thing. Right?

Twin Peaks 2nd season hits different when you relate a bit too much to the folks trying to get to the bottom of real issues while the seedy rich guy goes through a weird Confederacy fixation.

This, unfortunately, is the representative of my district in Congress. To advocate deportation of a natural born citizen for advocating empathy and mercy is not constitutional, not patriotic, not even conservative, not Christian (for those that care about that), and is simply heinous. Vote him out!

Been on a #KenBurns kick lately. Watched The Vietnam War and The Dust Bowl in the last week and just started Country Music. What are your favorites?

Read a bumper sticker on a Suburban today that just said "Lions Not Sheep," and I couldn't stop laughing for a good 5 minutes.

New Year's tradition I grew up with: eat sauerkraut and sausage.
Her New Year's tradition: Cabbage, beans, something about blowing cinnamon through a doorway, something about not taking out the trash or bringing in packages, open windows, bells (?), salt somewhere...

I just heard a commercial for a reality show call people "amateur survivalists," so if you're running out of random things to add to your resume, there ya go.
