Mike Elias allowing the Orioles to fall *18 games* under .500 without a managerial change was criminal. This team might have had a chance had it not been for accepting a dreadful start. Even with injuries, it was totally unacceptable. Should have been able to hover around .500 through May.

One Orioles move I’d make outside of a trade: Extend Sugano for a year. Need pitching depth, and I’m not sure what he’d really net in a trade. Keep him as a 4/5. #Birdland #Orioles

If Grayson Rodriguez (ever) returns from injury, the Baltimore Orioles should seriously consider whether he is better suited for relief work. That arm just doesn’t seem like it’ll hold up for 150+ innings a year. #Birdland #Orioles

Trade O’Hearn, Mullins, Morton, Laureano and get Beavers and Basallo up. Get what you can and let the young guys play.

Maybe the Ike Irish pick will grow on me. It’s easy to get excited when the O’s draft - but we have been here before

I like Aloy. Still, do wonder what the Orioles will do long-term for pitching. Elias hasn’t shown he’s willing to pay for front-of-the-rotation arms. And not getting much value for Kjerstad, or maybe even Mayo, now. Feels like the window is closing on developing them AND trading for a good return
July 14, 2025 at 12:35 AM
And another catcher for the Orioles. Maybe they don’t view Ike Irish and Sam Basallo as long-term options there. Or just adding tons of insurance.

I hoped the Orioles would take a pitcher there. Gage Woods would have been nice. Another corner outfielder, maybe catcher. Not filling holes.

Trading Kyle Stowers for a No. 4 starter is going to look like a generational fumble for Mike Elias
July 13, 2025 at 9:51 PM
It still boggles my mind that Mike Elias allowed the Orioles to sink to 18 (18!) games under .500 before making a managerial change. Absolute malpractice.

No, Orioles broadcaster, fans don’t actually like hearing boring in-game interviews with players that add nothing

Ryan O’Hearn is having a nice season, but the Orioles would be insane to extend him vs. trade him when his value will never be higher. I just don’t see a repeat season in the cards. Get something back for him

Look, all I’m saying is if Samuel Basallo isn’t ready for the Major Leagues, then Chadwick Tromp sure as hell isn’t, either.

So the Orioles can’t play in heat. Not a problem for a game played in the summer, right?
June 21, 2025 at 8:24 PM
The latest “most embarrassing” loss of the season is loading for the Orioles #Birdland
June 21, 2025 at 7:18 PM
Ramon Laureano has been such a pleasant surprise. Didn’t expect much from him other than some platoon work, and he’s turned into an everyday player and one of the best for the O’s this year.
June 21, 2025 at 12:46 AM
The -#Orioles are playing much, much better — and are coming off a solid win.

But, wow, is this team soft. None of your four best players can play? C’mon. Where’s the fight?! Every series is must-win, and you roll this out against a division opponent? Ugh.

Now watch them score 10 runs (points).
#Orioles lineup for opener vs. Yankees.

No Gunnar Henderson, Jackson Holliday or Cedric Mullins against LHP Max Fried.

Guys, you just have to excuse the Orioles blowing an eight-run lead. It’s *hot*. Can’t be expected to compete in that kind of circumstance.
June 19, 2025 at 1:53 AM
I get the Orioles had injuries, but coming out of May around .500 was doable. I fear they waited one month too long to fire Hyde. They’re turning it around, but still a long way to go.

Colton Cowser hits another solo HR. Could he have the first 20/20 season - 20 home runs, 20 RBIs?
June 18, 2025 at 12:48 AM
The Orioles need to win this series against the Rays. Can’t drop this game. Need to win every series from here on out.

A kingdom for the Orioles beat reporter who asks Tony Mansolino why he calls runs “points” #birdland #orioles
June 16, 2025 at 1:09 AM
If the Orioles aren’t back in it by mid-July, I’m all for trading Ryan O’Hearn and Cedric Mullins. Get some pieces back. Bring up Dylan Beavers. Get Kjerstad some more at bats (if he isn’t traded, too).
June 9, 2025 at 10:08 PM
What was the point of the Orioles even signing Cooper Hummel to an MLB deal just to try to send him back to the minors? And he leaves anyway. Weird stuff from Mike Elias.
May 30, 2025 at 3:26 AM
Tony Mansolino is probably just giving out orange slices after the games, telling the players the important thing is they tried.
