Look what arrived in the mail today, Bradley Thomas Turner's festively spooky 'Haunted Holiday Party' on candy cane #vinyl! And look, even came tied in a ribbon with a handwritten note. That little bit puts it over the top for me. ✨️😊✨️

Maybe a little cringe, but I have been eagerly awaiting the arrival of this album. Had Smash Mouth's 'Astro Lounge' on CD when I was much younger, getting my early bearings about me for what music I liked. Bounces between sunny pop and stoner groovy, it's bottled Millennial nostalgia.

Third and final vinyl for the night, this unofficial pressing of Pink Floyd's 'Live At Pompeii'. Because we only got a proper release this past year, so for a long time fans made due with these bootlegs. 🤷🏽‍♂️

Record room, Pink Floyd kind of night. Played Roger Waters' 'Dark Side Of The Moon Redux', now the 'Wish You Were Here Symphonic' covers. Put away the former album, and here's a shelfie of their studio albums, some live, and solo works I've been building over the years.

Stole this from Facebook, but Meowy Kram-puss-nacht!

Had our weekly guys' night yesterday, delayed due to Thanksgiving. Brought over a stack of blind watches to choose from and we went with 'The Battery'. Leaves you with some loose threads, but overall a good character study on stressed and strained friendship.

Holy crap, just... lol. I had a suspicion that this might be very dark, but especially by the end I was laughing from the sheer WTFuckery. 🤣 It was beautiful with its tongue in cheek humor, while managing to not lose the point.

Nice thing about this break is making some headway on my backlog of #horror movies. Next up this evening is 'Weapons', which I don't have much foreknowledge going into here, but sometimes that's better. Overly revealing trailers and spoiler posts online are rather rampant.

Feeling rather bleh with the grey, snowy weather out. But I managed a quick venture into town for the final day of our local Wayfairing Booksellers, plus picked up a plushie kidney at Deadtime Stories as a get-well gift. Now, I've made myself a mug of cocoa to have while watching 'Longlegs'.

Overall a good successor to 'Caveat'. Loved the oddities shop and appearance of the drummer rabbit toy, though wish it had a role. Still, the nod was nice. And while certain beats were foreseeable, I believe McCarthy understood that and threw in appropriate curves at our expectations. 👏🏻 Well done.

More tidying done, even a record listened to earlier. Now that I've had a little dinner, putting on a movie I meant to also watch last night, if it hadn't been so late by then: 'Oddity'. Set in the same story universe as 'Caveat', both were created by writer-director Damian McCarthy.

Now spinning 'Hey Arnold! The Music, Vol. 1' on orange-white swirl #vinyl with green splatter.

We re-arranged our holiday with the families, and long story short I'll be home alone the next few days. Given that time on my hands, besides catching up on household tasks, I'm putting on some various backlogged movies. This evening it's 'In A Violent Nature'.

Re-post from Facebook, marking that yesterday was 'What We Do In The Shadows' (among other roles) Kayvan Novak's 47th birthday. 🎉

Haven't seen much of Udo Kier's movies, but I've enjoyed him in the likes of 'Suspiria' (1977), 'End Of Days', and especially Carpenter's 'Cigarette Burns'. Been meaning to watch Warhol's 'Blood For Dracula', so perhaps in lieu of his passing I'll try to put it on sometime soon.

Went to Quality Scary tonight with this month's movie a first-time watch for me: 'Night Of The Creeps'. 🪱🧟‍♂️
Even had a Friendsgiving potluck dinner, which was a nice opportunity to sit together and talk with some of the others. You know, besides the usual heckling of the film for fun.

This Wednesday guys' night movie pick was indie flick 'A Most Atrocious Thing'. Think 'Cabin Fever' meets 'Thankskilling' and you'll be roughly in the right ballpark.
Is it thought-provoking cinema? No. Definitely no.
But is it dumb fun? Yes.

By far the most bizarre Stephen King adaptation I've seen, and this includes the talking anteater from 'Kingdom Hospital'. 😆 Darkly humorous, 'The Monkey' (2025) got a lot of laughs from me this evening.

This week's Wednesday guys' night movie was 'Antlers', which, as my friend prefaced, is rather dark in its subject matter (namely child abuse). That aside, I especially liked the creature design. Guy Davis of 'Hellboy', 'The Marquis', and other works was key in shaping its look.

My wife is very ready to plunge early into the Christmas spirit, whereas I... am not. 😅 Yesterday's compromise was putting away a little Halloween decor and putting on 'Gremlins'.

Had our weekly Wednesday guys' night, watched:
• The Halloween That Almost Wasn't
• The Wolf Man (1941)
• The Invisible Man (1933)
