FWIW the JTT podcasts are consistently outstanding and I've learned a lot from them, so thank you. It maybe a cliche of sorts, but if more ppl educated themselves about history in general, we might not be wallowing in shit to quite the same extent as we are atm.

My copy of "Appear Disapear" finally arrived in the post yesterday. What an album! It's one of the most compelling I've heard this year and is as good as anything they've done IMO. I'm really kicking myself that for various reasons I didn't get to see them in London end of last month - c'est la vie

Absolutely, they're a great band and I'm looking fwd to hearing their newest album when a copy of the CD finally arrives (I've been waiting a while 😉)

I'm aware of his background, whether he was "spoiled" or not is a value judgement on your part. Carlo Gesualdo was a cold blooded murderer but I still like his music for my sins ;)
