Ex-Banker, who still considers himself a Pro European Citizen, and who wishes that the UK government would listen to the voice of the public, regarding either closer realignment or re-joining the European Union.
That's my thoughts as well. We need to remember that it was us (The UK) that left them (The EU) in the first instance and we no doubt burnt a lot of bridges and goodwill by doing so. It will no doubt take time to rebuild both and by using the route that you mentioned IMHO - is the right way forward

Absolutely agree, although re-joining the Customs Union would be a start, as well.
