Happy celestial birthday to the late great Jock Stein. The Lanarkshire coal miner who led @celticfc-mirror.bsky.social to European greatness and Scotland manager. 🏆☘️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Fairly sure I’ve seen this look before - cheaper from the party store 😉

My dad pictured spent his 28th birthday at one of the most brutal battles of WWII, Monte Cassino. Before he died he eventually told me of the trauma of that battle & a 19 year old dying in his arms. This is what happens when you don’t confront fascism @ukparliament.parliament.uk

It is absurd that points like proactive scenario planning are only just occurring. 🙄🤦🏻🤯

And this is a favourite from my dad’s side, his paternal uncle (his father’s side were all Jersey fishermen), St Croix Perchard. This one taken c1920.

My old man (b.1916) in North Africa, 1942

My favourite picture of him is this though, clearly quite a character.

Taken c1929-30 I think. He’d just been ordained. L-R: Elizabeth Murray; Fr John Murray SJ; and John Murray.

Same with my mammy’s. A small selection of the mass cards.

And the response of @teamlabouruk.bsky.social government to Farage’s hateful rhetoric… Labour sympathisers can justify this all they like but it is patently enabling hate speech and demonstrates Starmer et al’s lack of moral courage.

Oh the irony.
August 26, 2025 at 8:41 AM
It was entirely predictable what the outcome of this meeting in Alaska would bring; Trump and Putin are in cahoots. What is nauseating is Starmer’s obsequious and about turn. He’s not alone, liberal leaders in Europe have acquiesced to this crook’s behaviour. Shivers looking for a spine!

Admittedly taken some time before the Cheeto potentate took over.
