I think you are misinterpreting what he is saying. I don’t think he is saying this isn’t something for US to take seriously. I think he is criticizing the media, having a conversation about it, with him, in a way that gives the idea of a 3rd term legitimacy.

I think this is more about prepping people. Kind of like when T said if he doesn't win it means election fraud. They are prepping people to not listen to the loud complaints by preemptively labelling them as fraudsters.
