But they hit on Purdy. You can't say "well if this didn't happen they would have been bad". That's not sound reasoning. Secondly let's say they finish dead last in the division. You want to fire them after two bad years? Good thing you don't make the decisions. There would be no stability.

Probably but they did 🤷. They also hit on many late round picks not just Purdy. It's actually pretty incredible that they traded so much capital for a player that didn't contribute at all and still immediately made it to the NFC Championship in 3 straight seasons and continued to the super bowl in 1

Lol sure but other than injury riddled seasons the team has been in the NFC Champ or Super Bowl every year since 2019. If you think there's another GM (and really coach too because they are a package) that could have done better with the injuries in 2020, 2024 and 2025 then ok but they don't exist.

The draft capital is way more valuable than one year out of a free agent especially when that one player is a drop in the bucket of helping the injury issues.

If the only moves available only help this year (which most are rentals with only a year left on their contract) they aren't worth it. Like you said the defense is completely depleted. Is one edge rusher going to fix that? No.
