people weren't handed high paying jobs, but entry level jobs had company training involved. I graduated 7 years ago and still can't get an entry level job in my field because I don't have 5 years of work experience. and my half a dozen internships have meant literally nothing. 2008 caused this

I'm used to European stores where you have to go searching for employees if you need something. when I have to go to Target or similar american stores, I'm like avoiding eye contact with the staff. like what do u want from me

it's from Star Wars The Clone Wars! the clone troopers (good guys) call the battle droids (bad guys) "clankers" and now irl people adapted that to describe ai stuff. I've seen the term used to describe both the technology and the people who overuse it
