I have read quite a few and like any genre there is a lot more than what 25 words can describe
In short it is a type of fantasy but the world itself has some type of game mechanics and most people are aware of said game
It isn't enough to be set in a known game world (ie Dragonlance) but the characters must know the game and are aware of their stats
