That said, I welcome encounter and healthy debate—how else can we move beyond singing to the proverbial choir? This feels like the greatest hurdle to overcome in our fragmented and polarised world.

This terrifying article provides the coherent rationale for the otherwise inexplicable destructive actions of the current US administration and others. Or am I just paranoid? If only...

The rise of end times fascism
The governing ideology of the far right has become a monstrous, supremacist survivalism. Our task is to build a movement strong enough to stop them

I am honoured to join this line-up of expert presenters from diverse disciplines for this very special gathering in Pari, a beautiful historic Tuscan village. The common thread is wholeness which was so vital to Jung that he identified it as the goal of individuation. paricenter.com/event/radica...

History repeats itself?
Max Ernst painted this shortly after the Spanish Civil War began in 1936, deeply worried by the spread of fascism. Of his Fireside Angel, he said: “This is obviously a highly ironic title for a sort of wild creature that wrecks and devastates everything that gets in its way."

I started planning this column a while ago, but I kept imagining it wouldn't be necessary, as many other journalists would surely get there first. I've been scratching my head ever since, wondering "where is everyone?" Is this not a huge and obvious issue?
This week's column asks a question that should be in everyone's minds, as Trump reshapes the world's alliances:

How, given that our defence and security capacities are completely infiltrated by the US state, do we defend ourselves if the US becomes our opponent? www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
The question no one dares ask: what if Britain has to defend itself from the US? | George Monbiot
So much of our intelligence and military systems are shared or reliant on the US – if it becomes the enemy, it is already inside the gates, says Guardian columnist George Monbiot

In just one month Trump and his cronies have behaved not just as fascists, but as imperialists. It is easy to lose our bearings in the noise. This film is a timely, vital and unsentimental reminder of the human potential for truth, goodness and beauty. See for yourself!

Here's a link to an essay that I was invited to submit to the Journal of Analytical Psychology. It is an updated summary of my eponymous book, and begins with Jung's warning that "the world today hangs by a thin thread, and that thread is the psyche of man".

It may be a cliché that a picture can tell a thousand words, but in this instance I'd say it's true.

I am an advisor to the Pari Center, and familiar with most of the presenters, so can highly recommend this online series starting tomorrow. If you want to understand synchronicity correctly (and even many Jungians don't!) this should be well worth your time.
