A chef in a previous life, now a Lecturer on food, & the dining experience and what makes these experiences memorable. Living my best life in Melbourne, Australia. These are my opinions alone.
I'm sorry, I am really struggle with the idea that we live in a world where these types of comments from Senator Babet actually resonate with people.
Explain to me, like I'm a 4 yr old, who sees Babet's comment and is like "yeah, totally......coffee and cigs".
Maybe I just live a very insular life.

To para-phrase Aaron Sorkin from The Newsroom, "intelligence was something we used to aspire to, now it is something we belittle."
I feel, your notion for some people, is accurate. Dumbed down 'leaders' make them feel comfortable.

Not me, I voted for Zoe.

Why, at first glance did I think the background behind Dutton & Ley was part of a Nazi swastika. Is there something wrong with me.
It must be something to do with the red and black and the angular text.

What, is he writing a script for a remake of a 1970's Kung fu movie? It is just weird. Who speaks like this.

Agree, agree, agree, and agree wholeheartedly. I struggle to understand the level of insecurity it takes to have a phone conversation on the train with the speaker on, talking BUISNESS, describing how "good" you think you are at BUISNESS, and how only you can save the BUISNESS. it is so sad.

For me, it seems to be the lesser of two evils and Dutton is clearly the most "evil" and potentially the most destructive and divisive.

Just like a lot of the french repertoire. Looks simple but comes down to the precise execution of technique. Chefs never really get the acknowledgement of the level of skill they demonstrate day in, and day out. It is an art.
Your food looks great, be proud and show it off.

Maybe it is "Jake and the fatman".

Good luck, I'm sure you'll be fine. Just focus on little steps forward, or even sideways, and maybe sometimes backwards. It's a journey and everyone's journey is different and needs to be acknowledged and respected. Again, good luck.

"Financier" always makes me giggle. Even when I used do an entire service in french, I can't stop thinking about a Gordon Gecko type selling me a dessert.

Correct. But it frightens and saddens me that he might actually win. The whole US saga has scarred me; & my faith in people's humanity is waivering. I hope Aussies are smart enough to see Spud for what he is & reject him.

It is heartening to see so many likeminded Goldstein voters here. It gives me hope that the @zoedaniel.bsky.social era will continue.

The journos who cannot grasp this concept are like a blind man in a dark room, looking for a black hat that isn't there. It is beyond humourous and in the realms of stupidity.

Agree. My @zoedaniel.bsky.social corflute is proudly on the front fence. I am dumbfounded that there is polling informing the libs that it is agood idea to run with Tim again.

I think indies can "talk" more accuratley to the views of their electorate and not appear to be "compromised" by a party ideaology. People, I feel, want their unique and specific electorate views represented, not diluted in a party room. I voted indie for both 'strategic' & idealogical reasons.

Unfortunately my Mum is gripped by the Sky news narrative. Xmas lunch was such a battle trying to "manage" the vitriol that Sky news engendered in its audience.
Luckily we survived with only a few flesh wounds.

Rohan,I agree whole heartedly with you. I was just wondering if he actually believes all that he wrote, or is it just some kind of schtick and grift that allows him to have a job.

Ha ha ha, I bet they do. This was just a general email invite to the electorate as part of his community engagement. No fee required. He is not liked at all in my neighbourhood. Plenty of Zoe corflutes out in surrounding streets. He is relying on the usual suspects in the Brightons.

I received an email invite to join Tim at some "town hall" meeting at the bowls club. I'm not going as Zoe Daniel is my MP and I am proud to support her. Goldstein is not just the home of old wealthy white people. We won't forget that Tim voted against same sex marriage.

I agree with you wholeheartedly. For a language pedant like myself, your sentiment is sometimes challenging to absorb and I need to remind myself constantly of this.😅

I quote Jean Grey from Xmen Apocolypse, "the third one is always the worst".
