Sunday morning at SCMS, I'll be giving a paper about Miyashita Yukiko's wonderful HyperCard minigames from the early 1990s—self-described "abnormal stacks by a normal housewife" フツーの主婦が作ったアブノーマルなスタック—as an alternative way into the history of Japanese digital games!

Working on a book about poetry in Japan that deals with digital media. Just translated this affecting poem from 2010 by Ogawa Yō 小川 葉.
Email Address Ogawa Yō I was sure I’d already canceled his account but when I sent an email to my dad’s address I got an immediate reply No way— I guess he’s still alive after all. Delivery Status Notification (Failure) I guess he must be a bit embarrassed so he sent his reply in English but I don’t really know English I try emailing him, over and over and every time, I get a reply right away No way— I guess he’s still alive after all the signal still reaches my dad’s room. Delivery Status Notification (Failure) There’s one thing I want to ask him and I keep writing emails with that one thing and sending them to him. Delivery Status Notification (Failure) No matter how many times I do it the replies keep coming I don’t really understand what the English means but I don’t want to understand Dad somehow or another I’m really happy Delivery Status Notification (Failure) When I get lonely again I’ll send you another email See you later Dad
