It’s now the end of week 3 after opening my lab here at UNM.edu - It’s an understatement to say that it’s a weird time to be a Canadian starting a lab in the US. 🫠 Yet, I’ve felt so welcome and supported here. On top of that, a colleague just brought me this cool mug 😎 Psyched to get things going!

A year ago today, Rachelle & I got married. It’s been a wild & fun year with so many changes. As scientists, particular during big transitions, we don’t make it easy on our partners. Rachelle is so supportive & game for (or creating her own) crazy ideas. So excited for our future together in ABQ!

Yesterday - on my last run before the holidays - I passed my yearly distance goal. It’s been a fun running year. In July, I finished my first ultramarathon, but also realized the value of run commuting for clear thinking during a rather busy period of my work life. Can’t wait for more in New Mexico!
