I agree that it's heavy erosion and scary but also not new. Hatteras lighthouse was moved about 1km in the 90's because of erosion. The Outer Banks is a very fragile edifice.

I took a language test (speaking and listening) for French nationality to this level. Happily I passed, and have dual nationality - but my written French is excruciatingly awful because I never paid attention at school.
