Surprised, but super happy to see that our #GameMaker game, Anti Tactics, got first place in the Yogscast Jingle Game Jam! It was super fun participating this year (as was last year's). tellyandrew.itch.io/anti-tactics

I got multiplayer working for my tile-and-lights project!

It's a basic server-client model that's fully decentralised. It uses UDP streams for entity/input information, and uses TCP with delta compression for tilemaps.

My tile renderer now cooperates with tilemaps being rotated & with painting/erasing tiles (while still playing nice with lights and shadows).

I'm looking to forward starting on some actual game design for this soon.

Here's the same scene with the shademapping technique I posted last night, but with now with normal maps.

I'm back working on my tile renderer. I wanted a lighting system that avoids shadow banding, doesn't flood-fill around corners, and still has tiles respecting shadows. So this system makes an intermediate 'shademap' from the shadow-cast to calculate how obscured each tile is.

I'm working on a custom tile renderer for my next game.
I found that feeding in an alpha=0.8 gives a good visual representation of which tiles are being re-rendered (the brighter ones) and which tiles are just being copied over from the previous frame.
