It's weird, because they clearly reformatted at least one episode for 1 78:1 (the real time episode, the clock in the corner has been adjusted for the new aspect ratio). So we know there was some extra work done. Wonder why they didn't just do it right, like with TNG?

Gareth Edwards may be one of the best directors today at making sure you feel the size and scale of things. This film and Rogue One are absolutely amazing in that regard.
