If I had a nickel for every time I got sick the same day I meant to see a mixed-reviewed blockbuster sequel this year, I’d have two nickels, which isn’t a lot but funny it happened twice.

WICKED proves it was worth the wait through its spellbinding movie musical magic. Cynthia Erivo, Ariana Grande & Jonathan Bailey are wonderful, with Grande’s comic timing standing out. Even as a noticeably padded Part One, the literal high note it ends on leaves you eager for what’s to come.
