Recovering barrister now small scale farming in glorious mid-Devon. Welsh rugby fan. Yeah, I know…
One of my friends once mused - “Given that she sang ‘Every Day is a Winding Road’, I don’t think Sheryl Crow is a real crow…”

Ha! Forgotten that! There was a judge at the principal registry of the family division who corrected me when I failed to pronounce the word as “kestion”. I was telling the story at a seminar today oddly enough.

Mate who worked in advertising way back and had Raymond Baxter (yes, him) in to do a v/o for a TV ad for soap powder. He kept pronouncing “question” as “kestion”. Day wore on until top ad exec turned up and spoke to him over talkback “Say it fucking properly, love, or you won’t get fucking paid.”

This one (Lola) would often come into the kitchen out of curiosity. She was particularly fond of ZZ Top for some reason.

A Ne-Ne! We had to find a new home for ours as they were constantly escaping. Currently having a happy time raising little Ne-Ne at a specialist centre in Wiltshire. Fabulous things - incredibly gentle and curious and we really miss them. Apart from the hours searching nearby fields of course…

Great picture. I remember seeing him sitting quietly with Dai Gardiner in a corner of the Ruperra quietly sipping an orange juice after training. Still shocking after all these years.

I knew Lindsay back in the ‘80’s when he was a county councillor with my mother. Properly sensible, principled, hard-working guy. Very pleased for him and good to see Caerphilly choosing someone known for decency and inclusiveness. Spring in my step this morning.

That’s lovely. Will try it. We actually have green eggs so maybe we could have green, green eggs and ham.
(We keep a variety of hen called Devon Olive that lay this colour eggs).

Lovely. Veterinary friend once told me that dogs that lose their sight do ok as it’s a far less significant sense to them than smell or hearing. “Just don’t move the furniture around too much” was his advice.

When I was a young barrister my head of chambers (b 1906) had a picture of himself, as a baby, sitting on the lap of his great grandmother who, when she was a child was taken to see HMS Bellerephon anchored off Plymouth in 1815. On board was Napoleon, bound for St Helena.
