Good to see the new bike storage at #RichmondStation finally coming along.
Will be great to have somewhere safe to park my bicycle in the town centre.
The photo is a view of rail tracks coming into Richmond Station with a District line tube train waiting at the far platform. It was our last door knocking session for the summer in Ham last night. We also got some signatures on the postcards against the #ThamesWaterPump from SOLAR.

Looking forward to the debate tonight on this motion, bringing in emissions- and weight-based charges for car parking in Richmond. The road danger that #SUVs bring must be tackled.
Council notes: · Half of new cars are too wide for typical 1.8m on-street parking bays, and SUVs are often 2m wide, · Wider, taller, heavier cars cause extra damage to roads and are more likely to kill or injure people walking, wheeling or cycling, · Serious and fatal road collisions in London cost £1.2 billion in 2024, · Petrol and diesel SUVs burn 20% more fuel, while electric SUVs require additional resources and critical minerals for batteries. Council resolves: · That the Transport and Air Quality Committee Chair requests officers propose parking charges based on vehicle size and emissions for the 2026/27 budget.

Some of my activities from the last month.

Being a councillor always throws up different things. This time it was a landowner selling off plots of lands (too small to build on), but still worrying. I met officers and residents, provided information, and got emergency Tree Preservation Orders.

Delighted the community in Ham raised £379 for charity 21 & Co, which supports families of children with Downs Syndrome. Thanks to Ham Parade Market for selling the raffle tickets, and to the local shops and stallholders for providing the hamper of goodies.
