Dad was an official scorer for his hometown’s single-A team. Arcane baseball rules were his jam, so that play would have made him chatty.

When I reconnected with a high school friend a few years back, one of the first questions she asked me was about a China Crisis song! (Not this one, but another off their debut album.) I always thought she tolerated them because I used to drive her around. :)
