coming out for 3e, i really loved saga (been trying to collect more books from it)...
it did have a little bit of a power problem, but that honestly made it more fun/silly (esp when i was 12-16)

I do find it interesting that there’s is a sort of duality conception of “what does Ghibli mean for ttrpgs”

And that’s precisely my point, when I see projects advertised as Ghibli inspired and it’s not clear (outside of aesthetic), how they are emulating those stories or facilitating them through mechanics

I think that’s just more abuse of name brand recognition, and becuase advertising is visual,
Misleads or partially misrepresents its actual connection to the IP (or its understanding of the IP)

I guess I could see an argument differently looking at just Kiki’s and Spirited away , but that would be about
coming of age
Finding Empathy and compassion
Harmony with (ones) nature

I believe that’s my problem with it, the aesthetic is cozy cottage core, with an artstyle of anime
Saying something is inspired by Ghibli should include aspects of their narrative which include:
the conflict of Nature/tradition vs progress, harms of war, and the threat of power corrupting humanity

We’re a resistance/opposition party now, we need to start resisting and making demands

We are now an opposition party, we must resist and force them to seek compromise.
