Just rolled in the final ride for this trip. Sunshine all day and summer temperatures in the low 20s! Will explore the city tomorrow while prepping for the flight home the day after.

Lazy start to wait out the rain that ended by 11. A warm cloudy day followed on gently rolling hills through farmland. A forest shelter looked promising as a campsite but groups of youths hanging around had me book an Aarhus hotel instead. Instead of cooking dinner, I visited a food stand for tarteletter, mørbradgryde and bollar i karry. Tasty and very saucy.

A wet misty day from the Hirtshals dock to a farm stay that I booked later in the day after being thoroughly drenched. Farms, pretty towns, and small forest stands kept the day interesting. Good to be warm and dry in the caravan.

Beautiful fjords, tunnels, ferries and another serpentine climb. After an early morning 14 km to catch the 7:45 ferry at Ornes, the rain did come and had me thoroughly soaked necessitating a break till noon at the Songdal Circle K. Clouds remained for the ride up to the Utsikten Gaularfjellet, a 900+ metre climb from the sea. Blue sky has a peak now and again, but it was not till later in the evening when the summer sun cleared the sky of clouds. The ride ended with still warm air and a setting sun.

A wet rainy morning ride was made easier by warm humid air as one neared the sea. Unsure of route ahead I opted to stay a night to have time to review options. St. Olav must have caught the attention of my online algoryhym as that is where I ended up - in the hotel…

St. Olav must have caught the attention of my online algoryhym as that is where I ended up - in the hotel part of the hospital. Seems like a good way to bring in some funds if beds happen to be empty.

Glad midsommar! A rainy morning greeted us after an evening with our norwiegan hosts in their caravan for grilled cheese, chips and beverages. A holiday weekend here finds most shops closed and provides us with a rest day to clean up and do routine maintenance on the bikes.
