For only #rstats users and beginners maybe RStudio is still the better choice for now? More advanced or multi-language I would personally go with Positron. I'm transitioning in my own use but not yet in my teaching.

@yan-holtz.bsky.social does a lot of visualization stuff including I think d3js. Might be worth checking his website.
