This seems like a problem for anyone who wants to be less dependent on google or apple. In the case of android your OS *has* to be signed by google, meaning you can't use any custom ROMs. i think this will hurt digital sovereignty.

There are a few problems with their implementation.
If this gets rolled out this would mean you can't use any custom android ROMs on your phone and have no choice but to download these apps through the play store.
