Nabokov was often delighted to see how people misunderstood Lolita. that's actually a key point to the novel.

how ironic that these guys want total freedom to the point of setting themselves into feudalism and company towns.

Ask your AI, "what is the relation of surrealist art to ars gratia artis?"
November 26, 2025 at 5:22 PM
yes, there was conformist suburban society in the US in the 60s and 70s, but there was also regional cultures plus lots of subcultures.

today, US consumerism has created the same 100 national brands in every mall.

much of our social world was "free range" which had been handed down for generations.

but commercialization has turned everything into paying events and people into consumers.

well, yes, if you don't look at the tremendous amount of garbage, slander, and vitriol that was published in the 1600s, 1700s, and 1800s, then yes, today it's pretty bad.

this is why AI has broken tracking and analytics. if you have 25,000 visitors, you don't have five target audiences, you have 25,000 audiences.

Google creates user embeddings for each user and web page. it's NOT using target audiences, segments, demographics, etc.

yes, make AI personas to guide the AI to make better content, but it's just a guide for the AI. the persona don't really exist.

Demons?
October 28, 2025 at 4:20 PM
the article makes many good points.

but it doesn't discuss Dems' own election postmortem analysis: big corps & wealthy donors control the party, which prevents actions against them.

also, Dems concur w military hegemony, which takes much of budget. nothing left for social programs.

Before: buy tickets and parking in one app.

Future: buy parking in one app, ticket in another.

How is this an improvement?
October 23, 2025 at 1:30 AM
this will make us use three separate apps: timetables, tickets, parking.

not good.
October 8, 2025 at 11:59 PM
no! so much easier to use the app!
