I spent five hours yesterday laboriously writing a really woeful chapter that I'll probably delete. I spent two hours this morning dashing out two chapters I quite like.
The moral of the story could be something about trying and failing and trying again, but I think it's actually 'take Mondays off'

Just finished An Invitationto the Kennedys by Emily Hourican, who is not here (yet) and won't know I'm saying this, but for everyone else: she is truly one of Ireland's greatest writers, whether writing historical or contemporary novels, and an all round lovely person. And this book is perfect.
