Thinking it’s safer/better to donate to well-known orgs instead of families who are trying everything they can to get money to live is just racist. This is happening before our eyes and so many of you are just scrolling past it. You see bodies flying in the air and scroll.

And I know you’re not all donating behind the scenes because I run a gofundme for a family. And with aid not getting in, insane inflation on basic goods & lack of funding to orgs in Gaza, families NEED their own funds to survive.

I understand that speaking about this could jeopardize your job. I understand this very well because I’m probably not getting jobs as we speak because of this. But I’d rather see people LIVE & have to move in with my parents than save face.

I’ve gotten used to embarrassing myself on social and expecting the online equivalent of blank stares and weird looks for texting and DMing people directly & inviting ppl I haven’t talked to in years to discussion channels. What really disappoints me is the radio silence.

Don’t think I don’t have a running list of those of you who have been silent or have only reposted a few obligatory things to your stories. Migrant justice, climate change and LGBTQ+ justice are directly intertwined with Palestinian liberation.

Fellow white people, especially those of you with a platform, but really all of you, I’m honestly ashamed and disappointed in you and need you to do better immediately. The optics of your brand and feed matter less than the survival of the people we’re killing with our tax dollars and our silence.
