I have been sitting on this for quite some time, so I'm so ecstatic to be announcing it! 🍑

When The Gaiety commissioned me to direct their mainstage Spring show, Sabrina Mahfouz's CHEF instantly came to mind.

I've said it before, and I'll say it again - there has never been, and will never be a Lysistrata just like this one 🔥🍆🥳

Aristophanes would have fu**ing loved it.

Lysistrata is the most notorious of Aristophanes' comedies, and this adaptation is unlike any other Lysistrata that has come before. Transporting the action from Greece to Scotland and from 411BC to 2024 - The men of Scotland are off to fight the War with the army... The Tartan Army. ⚽️🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Lysistrata will be the first play, that I've put my name on as both adaptor & director; what a privilege it's been up to now! More importantly, I couldn't have asked for a more warm, open & generous company to do this with

They embraced the play, world & vision for it, and absolutely ran with it! 🍆
