When looking at preferences, it appears that the drivers of voting for populism differ. Middle-educated are more willing to self-position on the right and to be attached to trad values (cult backlash); low-educated are great supporters of direct democracy (anti-elitism)

Individuals with a low level of education are more willing to vote for populist parties in general, while middle-educated exclusively support right-wing populist parties.

Using data from the #ESS_Survey #vdeminstitute and #ClineCenter I find that those who were in their impressionable years in 1968 are more willing to vote for #populist parties (following the PopuList by @mrooduijn.bsky.social et al. -first version, unfortunately).
