Yeah but the opportunity to use 44 pitchers this season makes it all worth it.

The apps/websites make it a huge pain in the ass to cancel, of course. But I encourage everybody to persist.

This fucking sentence.

You’d better not say “as a Christian” unless what you mean is “as someone who sees, in every face, the face of God.”

I think if you’re planning for a 2029 in which people still willing to brand themselves “Republicans” have any kind of federal power, you’re already not aiming high enough.

That "try harder" is often a useful LLM prompt is one of their more confounding aspects.

ChatGPT confidently, and incorrectly, identified this bag. When I said, "no, try again," it got it right!

It wants to use less resources, but ends up using more, because it can't tell when it's wrong.

It's not quite this, but I'll take it.

In The Brothers Karamazov, as Markel Zosima is having religious epiphanies in his last days, he tells his mother that he’s the greatest sinner of all. He takes responsibility for all sin. Then the doctor says the illness has gone to his brain.

I doubt Trump’s words come from quite the same place.

I'll be putting these back on GOAT. And for any women who usually wear like a US 14 and can't find much -- try Adidas!

BTW I know the sneakerina trend will be ephemeral, and I don't care. These are my exact style.

Nordstrom, where I've found the largest selection of shoes -- and maybe this is why -- calls a women's 13 an EU 44.

Anyway, my bad for not checking the Adidas chart. Usually any (cute) women's shoe that exists in my size doesn't exist in any larger size.
August 18, 2025 at 7:20 PM
Turns out Adidas converts shoe sizes differently than I'm used to. They equate a US women's 13 to a men's 12 and an EU 46 2/3.

While Nike for example equates a women's 13 to a men's 11.5 and an EU 45.5.
August 18, 2025 at 7:20 PM
I never thought this would happen for me. I ordered women's shoes and they are TOO BIG.

This is my favorite way to test LLMs. At least it isn’t telling me that Kobe’s still alive like the last version did. But I’m not quite sure how Jordan’s “living status” disqualifies him from a list of players who are “still alive.”
August 8, 2025 at 10:28 AM
Why limit it to trans men? Surely cis women with broad shoulders, short hair, or insufficient makeup should be excluded too?

I don’t know if they have a mechanism for actually doing this, but they tell you they can:
