People get stuck in cycles. These cycles can last generations. Trauma, abuse, neglect, finding pleasure in the wrong places, causing harm, covering it up.

And teaching it all, the whole thing to the next generation...

There's one line in this piece that's more revealing than likely intended: use of the word "now" here.

Like... yes, that's the issue: a moral panic was whipped up about something completely safe, effective, and with extremely low regret rates and public opinion shifted.

The @nytimes.com along with so many “liberal” publications continue to be all in on the endless anti-trans witch hunt. It sells clicks & papers. Fueling anti-trans hysteria is profitable. Complete with transphobic quotes - and no trans people quoted in the article.
How a Women’s College Volleyball Team Became the Center of the Transgender Athlete Debate
Not since the swimmer Lia Thomas has a college athlete or team put the fiercely contested issue of transgender rights in sports under such a bright spotlight.

This isn't a culture war. This is the only trans congresswoman, ever being bullied through the press and legislation, and having only 1 of hundreds of colleagues stand up for her. They can do more than 1 thing at a time. Defending her will not take so much effort that they can't do their jobs.
Defending Sarah McBride is absolutely the right thing to do, and yet there’s also the risk of being baited into yet another culture war cycle that distracts from the Republican grift. Her statement suggests she wants to move forward, and I think it’s wise to take the cue from her.

Would campaigns for Safe Pregnancies be easier to get votes on than Pro Choice? Or does it give up too much ground even if it is a different slogan to the same protections
