How I'd like to see the #CanMNT line up tonight vs Venezuela. 🇨🇦 hasn't scored since Cornelius' wonder set piece goal vs Wales in September. Marsch will start Tani but it's time give Promise a run. Also, Choiniere at LB more closely approximates Millar or Ahmed's playing traits.

With Nathan Saliba reported to have come to personal terms with Anderlecht, the odds of his move from #CFMTL seems closer than ever. Who will fill his void? A prospect like Gabriel Pellegrino who's on an expiring contract with Freiburg? A #CanPL prodigy like Khadim Kane? Montreal has no MLSNP team.

So Mexico has released its roster by the CONCACAF due date (yesterday, 10 MAR) but no sign of the #CanMNT roster yet. Curious as to the reason, ie. did Canada Soccer get an extension to sort through injuries etc? Here's Mexico's roster⤵️

Given this speculative #CanMNT roster here is my take on the 🇨🇦 starting XI vs 🇲🇽 on March 20th. It'll be the usual 4-4-2 shape but looking more like a 3-4-3 in attack with more of the play moving down the left flank with Buchanan & Davies. Larin starts this one from the bench.

GK Owen Goodman 🇨🇦 made 3 saves enroute to his 10th clean sheet in 22 matches so far this season. Goodman has allowed just 18 goals & boasts a save pctg of 71%. Hopefully #CanMNT coach Jesse Marsch is tracking & speaking to the 21 yr old prospect. A Gold Cup invite would be warranted.

While Jesse Marsch hasn't regularly deployed a 3 man back line since his RB Salzburg tenure, it's a formation I'd like to see the #CanMNT use against teams that are expected to hunker down against 🇨🇦. A true 6 allows more advanced MFs to better pressure a low block in possession & without.
