I had a question and Tom Robbins had the answer. So I wrote him, and he wrote right back. He didn’t respond to the question itself, but to why I’d asked. What a gently delivered, generous gift. I’ve looked for The Whys ever since and often leave them be after that. It’s wonder, not answers, I want.
