It's worse. Larry Ellison's kid doesn't have the money to buy WBD, he is going to have to use Saudi and Qatari money.

Baidu and Google have other profitable areas to subsidize AVs, GM, Ford, basically left out this area, Tesla doesn't really have an AV. They are expecting to cut labor someday, but that day is very far away.

1-) EVs is basically a battery, not car game. That's a huge issue for legacy carmakers(BYD was originally a battery, not car maker). 2-) Cabs and corporate fleets are a natural market for EVs, manufacturers need to have EVs that fit into these two markets.

Every of these Waymos and other brands must have technicians and operators following the cars, you have the large teams mapping the cities. A conventional cab is simply a guy or gal driving the car.😅

In theory he could, but unless ORCL gains in value he would risk losing control over Oracle just to own... CNN.

Driving is difficult, and a lot of studies doesn't show a huge improvement of productivity over AI - these companies are seemly used AI as an excuse.

The real question here, that was raised by Martin Peers in The Information, is whether Larry Ellison has the money to buy WBD. The Saudis would need to sink a lot of money in this deal.

AVs as they currently exist and as they'll exist for a long time employs FAR more people than simply paying people to drive. 😅

Dan Wang has been arguing that China is lead by engineers and these engineers think that they can engineer people.

Residential housing with glass windows is interesting.

December 2, 2025 at 5:52 PM
December 2, 2025 at 5:48 PM

The type of joke that even the French comics aren't using anymore. 😅

Yes, but until the 1970's the genre wasn't that complex, and for every Chris Claremont(Under Jim Shooter and excellent artists, Claremont alone never made anything interesting) there is a lot of clutter that doesn't attract a lot of readers.
December 2, 2025 at 4:00 PM
Superheroes? A genre with a guy showing their underpants going after a guy dressed as penguin? Do you think that THAT should have complex storylines?
December 2, 2025 at 3:55 PM
Yes, but superheroes specially are supposed to be have simple storyline and the problem is that there is a lot of clutter(The fact that villains ARE defeated in mangá while Joker stays alive and at-large regardless of killing people is also pretty bad for Marvel/DC comics).
