Anime. I'd read a few chapters of the manga way before the anime came to be, and as much as I loved the concept, and even what I'd read at that point, it doesn't hit nearly as hard as the anime does. The soundtrack makes all the difference. Animation is great as well.

The difference in practice between this and the USA? Close to none. A little better, maybe, but not significantly.

In practice, we basically have right wing parties (most of them, thats where we harbor our fascists), a big center-left party, a few parties further left that act as auxiliaries, and a couple tiny, in practice irrelevant communist parties with no elected officials. +

Point being: what "a party" means in one context doesn't mean the same in another. In Brazil, we have dozens of parties. The thing is, most of their ideological differences are non-existent, because they act more like bureocratic instruments to the election process than anything else. +

It is, however, expected; that's one of the many arguments people are exposed to constantly about China (and others), hardly ever being shown the many counterarguments. I guess you can imagine why. (because Red Scare propaganda, that's why, just in case there was any doubt in any readers)

Much like parliamentarism and presidentialism are different forms of liberal government that exist in the West, other forms of party organization also exist elsewhere in the world. Assuming one works "like yours, but worse because they removed the only thing that's good" is disingenuous at best. +

Counterpoint: Differing values can exist inside a single party, no problem. You can very clearly see this in the democrats with Bernie Sanders, who is much more left-leaning than the party's "central" ideology. +

Oh, wow. That's comically bad.
