I saw a 1st edition of Jane Austen’s Pride and Prejudice at the Lilly Library today. I’m in awe of the middle-aged “spinster” living in genteel poverty whose sharp observations and feminist critique of the patriarchy couched in wit and charm are still so pertinent more than 200 years later.

Yesterday was about comfort food. Homemade bread pudding for brunch, and homemade gnocchi and tomato broth from @smittenkitchen.bsky.social for dinner.

I did a similar one at home once— it was smaller but still took HOURS to construct. Much more complicated than I thought it would be.
