I know it's not usual or even very good for a character describe their LI as "unattractive". But I've kinda done so. On purpose!
He's not the main LI but it's very intentional in his character design that he's the most mid/average man ever. But that's what makes the other characters so into him.

All I'm saying is that the two married fallen angels "seem" cishet.
One of the angels literally goes on a whole rant about how she thought the *other* was going to end up being the pregnant one. Knew it was gonna happen to one of them, but she gets stuck in a "woman's" body

Sometimes, you fall in love with another genderless/pangendered angel & decide to fall from grace so y'all can have a kid. Unfortunately, being fallen angels means becoming human. One of you gets given a female body, the other male, & suddenly you're experiencing human attraction...

Sex scenes are almost never "gratuitous" or "unnecessary." You learn things about characters and relationships during sex that you can't really learn any other way, such as whether they're into fisting.
