Back to see Christmas at Luther again!
The inside of the Center for Faith and Life at Luther College. The stage is set up for performance, with choir risers, seating for a full orchestra, Christmas decorations, and a backdrop depicting the Holy Spirit as a dove. This year’s theme is “Fling Wide the Door” and the colors of the backdrop coordinate with the red, blue, and green robes of three of the choirs.

The Italian prune plums I used were on the small side this year, so I was able to use 28 plum halves for a full-sized torte. When I made the recipe again using my small springform pans, I was able to fit seven plum halves on each cake. I also tried it with peaches.

I have never seen a copyright notice set to music! Found in “Songs of Man: the International Book of Folk Songs” (by Luboff and Stracke, illustrations by Freeman), published in 1965. Set to a calypso no less! Love the fanfare and repeat for the Library of Congress catalog card number at the end!

The book is “Songs of Man: the International Book of Folk Song” by Luboff and Stracke, illustrations by Freeman, published in 1965. The page has a hand-written call number in the top left corner and a stamp of LUTHER COLLEGE LIBRARY in blue ink in the bottom left corner. The music is in three sections. After an introductory Rubato, the middle section is a calypso. The short fanfare at the end is for the Library of Congress catalog card number. The last section is the only part that is marked with a repeat.
