It definitely takes some getting used to. There are often demos and templates for common things you may want to get started, but it does take more work than some other engines.

They do, this just a prettier but more expensive method

Gotta love that minimal theme. It's being built into the engine in 4.6, work is ongoing!

Side note, I love how organic the animations feel when you spin him around

Don't think of it as a waste though! It's always good to learn by doing, even if you don't use the end product

Is it a 3D character rendered like pixel art, or a bunch of animated pixel assets stacked?

CSG does indeed allow you to scale from faces, it used to be by origin but for a few versions now it defaults to using the face!

Stencil buffer, backtracing, better duplication and make unique menus, and probably abstract classes/methods. There's so much but those are what I'm most excited for, particularly the duplication stuff.

They said in the past that they wouldn't canonize any game endings in the show, but I think it would be hard to avoid. I guess we'll find out in December

Yeah, it can be a handy way to install but keep in mind if you are working on a longer term project, you don't want versions constantly changing. It's best to pick a version and stick with it to focus on working on the project itself!

If I recall correctly, these numbers are looking much better year over year at least. Probably mostly new developers and that's a great thing!

This was a very interesting read, thanks for doing the research for us lol

The new typed dictionaries help a lot with that, though structs would be useful! You can at least have variables take other resources inside of resources, as long as they don't form a cyclical reference. Hopefully they can eventually make that work too, but I don't think it's simple

Then you'll love Zed too if that happens 😜
