Hobbies?

Besides reading and writing?
I used to travel a lot, but Covid put a stop to that and I haven't picked it up again. Aside from that, I run, hike, enjoy culture and science, friends and family.

Sometimes, I binge-watch, but not on a regular basis.

I'm a plantser!

For my historical novels, I need to plot more, need to know how I'll wave my story around the known facts.

For fantasy and dystopia, I can go wild and explore more while write. But at some point, I need to know where I'm heading, or it becomes a pain.

Tucked inside his cloak, Cyn had hurried them back, away to Ninth Quarter, and they had run. He half-wished he had never seen that, but also knew that he couldn't unsee it now that he had. Whatever was going on in Tenth Quarter, it had nothing to do with the things they had been told. It also had nothing to do with the purple shield, or at least that shield had not triggered anything. Something very strange was happening.

I can honestly write everywhere, as long as I can sit comfortably and put my laptop somewhere. Noise canceling earphones help me drown out voices.

But mostly, I write in my sunlit living room, which us the brightest, coziest room and has a fireplace, too 😁

Fantasy (low and high) as well as historical fiction are my favorites, both in reading and writing. I dabble a little in other areas. I almost always need/have a romantic subplot.
Never ever racial or LGTBQ+ slurring. Absolute no go.

It came close enough for him to make out some shapes — a flower, a… unicorn? “Incoming!” Vlad hissed. Cyn flared up, steeling himself. The wild dream stopped, irritated by the illusion of several potential dreamers in front of it, the weakest — a little child — sleeping in the middle. It could sense something was off, but its instincts were stronger. It dove forward, going straight for the child. The device slammed shut. Cyn let go of his breath, releasing his trickery. The illusions disappeared, leaving nothing but a small box on the pavement. He went to pick it up. “Capture,” he said, once he was sure the device was sealed, and grinned.

When did I start writing?

Little pieces by hand before, but it's truly started once I could lay my hands on a keyboard, age 12. First thing was a typewriter (the one you see as background on my qebsite), but shortly after followed a pc.

This month, I'll focus on #ChasingWildDreams, a dystopia that takes place in our future after some disastrous event. Dreams got loose and start haunting the streets. Gifted like Cyn, a trickster, are out to catch them.
